Home Library and Outreach service

If you find it hard to get to the library due to mobility difficulties or any other reasons, you can use our Home Library Service.

We also allow friends and relatives to collect books and other items on your behalf.

If you are interested in this service or know someone who would like to receive it, please contact us at  [email protected] or 0208 937 3400.

Become a home library volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers who can deliver books and other library items to people who are unable to visit our libraries in person.

As a volunteer, we will ask you to:

  • commit two to three hours, once every three weeks or more if you are available
  • deliver books to customers across Brent
  • return books and other items to nearby library branches

We will cover the costs of any travel expenses, so please keep records of your visits.

If you can spare any time to volunteer with our home library and outreach service, please contact us at [email protected]

Books for community organisations

Brent Libraries can loan books to community venues such as nursing homes, nurseries, schools, sheltered housing, hostels, youth centres, family and wellbeing centres and other community venues.

We can also provide multiple copies of books for reading groups that meet in community venues.

If you are a community organisation, and would like regular loans of books for your reading room, please email to [email protected]
